It takes too long to climb. You can get 100% on all your attacks and still not advance to the next stage.
What rank are you?
Get yourself a war village disposition and war clan castle defence troops. It’s not too hard to get all or almost all 100% attacks, the main leaderboard changers are defences.
Headhunters are amazing, and can kill a hero of a distracted player or at least force them to use their active skill earlier, and you can understand how damaging a wasted Archer Queen or Barbarian King activation can be. Super Minions have their passive increased range that can snipe some stuff safely.
TH16. A lot of the time it comes down to the chance of getting more defences. I’ve missed a promotion because I got one or two less defences than the people above me.
You can’t really do anything about that. It can happen that some won’t attack.
