Sorry. But as I said, I am on somewhat of a high, because YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
There is the editing to be done, but it has come out almost exactly as I wanted.
Would it be wrong to go YAAAAAAAAAAAAY again?
So once again I’ve run into a problem. It seems this year has just decided to screw me both ways at once.
When I export the story from WriterSolo, it converts to Word. And when I paste that into Archive Of Our Own, it screws up the formatting - doesn’t centre the dialog/character setting. Which is more than a tad annoying (grrrr! argh!!!)
So the posting of the story is going to be delayed more than a little - I think it will be at least two weeks until it’s ready, because it’s 450 pages or so.

A sequel to last year’s Nano Project (The Wave) and a follow up to what has been called by many (well - by me) the greatest fanfiction of all time “Lost In Middle Earth”, “Lost In A Galaxy Far, Far Away” retells the story of Anna Skywalker and her relationship with three women who would change his life, and the lives of everyone in the galaxy - The Queen, The Jedi Knight and The Chancellor.
An epic tale spanning decades of history - this is Star Wars like you’ve never seen it before.
Well so far I’ve renamed one of my lead characters six times.
So it’s either a product of “pre-NaNo messing about because I can’t start writing until November” syndrome (which is something that happens a lot) or this is going to be a nightmare of a year.
So either I did a bad thing, or a thing no one will care about.
I was looking for software to write screenplays in, because I’ve tried writing them in word, and it seldom, if ever, ends as well as I like. It’s a formatting nightmare and then converting it to HTML that fits into AO3 is… a bastard.
I found one I like - WriteSolo. It’s pretty good (this is not an endorsement, just a comment) because it remembers character names and is easy to switch between Scene, Action, Character, Dialog and parenthesis.
But to test it out, I started writing the project I was going to do for Nano, and I kind of got carried away to the tune of nearly 3000 words (2884).
So I’ve decided to keep the word count and start it a week or so early.
I know - sin of sins, I am a bad person and so on. But what you gonna do? Kick me out of the community? Spank me?
Plus I have a three day trip to London next week, including quite a long train ride, so it’ll keep me busy. Long nights in the hotel, train rides, maybe take the laptop to restaurants etc.
We’ll see.

Fun and exciting day today as I changed from WriterSolo to Trelby. It’s made it a bugger to update the word count (Trelby doesn’t do that) but WriterSolo is not good with saving properly - it’s a nightmare.
So It’s not yet actually NaNo and I’ve got into the second act of the story. Which is more than I thought I would.
Today was less than I planned, but I went to see Back to The Future (which was fun) and there were other problems that took up A LOT of my day which meant a lot less writing.
Hopefully I can get back on track over the weekend :)

I’ve written a bunch of stuff and reached the end of Part 2 (Attack of the Clones) so I’m taking a break. I’ll carry on after a nap and tea, and then edit this to update it with Day 15, Part 2 and the count and the total.

I’m writing basically a weird stream-of-consciousness fictive journal. I’m trying to flesh out the backstory and setting of the indie game project that I’m trying to get started (and hope to get the game design document to some kind of a workable state by the end of the year, so I can begin actual development of stuff). This writing month project is basically the idea journal and assorted philosophical ramblings of the main character of the game.
Not sure how frequently I’ll be commenting, but I hope more often than last year (which was basically nothing).
November 3rd, 5204 words so far, just getting this rambling machine started. I literally have no plan, just trying to get to this character’s headspace at this point. So far, it’s been interesting, and I hope to take this into some strange directions. (Though, I wonder how strange directions are there still left to explore after today’s weird sunflower rant. Well, we’ll see!)
So, I’m basically done today, on the 27th! 50,242 words. Guess I was more active on the Fediwrimo sub, sorry about that.
