My parents were at that Who concert. They showed up late because they were having a good time drinking at the bar. Thanks to booze, they possibly lived.

Haha my phrasing was poor. What I meant by that was they could have been part of the stampede/crunch and been injured or killed had they gone to the concert on time.
I wasn’t born for another 10 years so yes, they lived.

I really dislike hacker news comment sections. There’s already a comment on there about blaming the members of the crowd for these accidental deaths and that claiming it’s not their fault is failing to grasp such a “complex event”. What a shithole.
