What kind of trees are the purple ones?
They’re jacarandas - they look nice, but you need to watch out because the flowers are pretty slippery once they’ve fallen.

Are they actually that vividly purple in real life or has the photo’s purple saturation been cranked up?

They’re gorgeous. We have a view over the greater Sydney area, this time of year you get pockets of purple that show up it’s really lovely.
