I guess “for life” probably won’t apply here with obsolescence being what it is, I’d settle for longer than a year. Anyone know of good usb-c cables that actually last?
A few years ago I picked up a pair of these:
NIMASO 6FT USB C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable 10Gbps 100W PD TB3 cable https://a.co/d/bKGGUE4
I’ve used both of them pretty much daily as my on-the-go charging kit along with a nice 100w USB PD charging brick. Overall, I’m very happy with the quality, durability and reliability of the cables.
Most of my use case is just for charging my Thinkpad P1 gen 1 and Pixel 5 via USB C, but I have on occasion used them for data transfer over both USB and TB3 without issues. The connectors have remained reliable and haven’t developed any wiggle like some of the other cables I’ve used. The braided shielding is beefy, you really can’t bend these into a tight radius, which is very good for durability. There’s a nice little rubberized section at the ends and in my usage so far I haven’t noticed any excessive wear around the junction.
Obviously I’d take my experience with a grain of salt, I have just two units to compare against the thousands sold, and these aren’t from some big, well known or reputable brand. I would be interested to hear about anyone else’s experience with these cables before saying you can buy them for life.

You got a link for the specific cables you use?
I have a couple of “Nördic” brand cables that seem to be holding up very well compared to others. No idea if they’re available outside the Nordic countries, though.
