Way better than it had any right to be, totally worth the watch.
You took the words right out of my mouth. It has no right to be as good as it is. Dare I say the best videogame adaptation?
Surprisingly good. Not high art, but enjoyable. Gets better as it goes.
We just finished it and were worried it wouldn’t get another season, so this is good news!
I’m a fan of the video games, but… I didn’t really think there was enough material there to make a whole show out of it. Maybe I’ll check it out.
It’s really good. Pretty funny one liners all over the place. The characters are not that deep, it’s more like a cartoon, but live action.
It’s big dumb fun that is not only surprisingly earnest bur knows and enjoys being big dumb fun. The car sequences seem mostly practical FX which I appreciate. And at my age, there’s a shitload of nostalgia with some of their pre-apocalypse memories/song choices.
I’d say it’s on par with shows like Cobra Kai. It knows what it is, and doesn’t try to be anything more. It’s a fun action watch, with some good nostalgia and funny bits. Never takes itself too seriously.
I love the show. It’s pretty perfect from an entertainment perspective.
They lean a bit more on the wacky (but brutal) aspect of the games than some people wanted. But for me, it’s hard for me to imagine it being done any better. I’ve had one major gripe with the show, and even then I understand what they’re going for.
It’s not my favorite, but I enjoy it, and I have zero familiarity with the game.
At least Peacock kept this show going. Guess I will renew when this comes out.
