How are you all liking SF6 so far? I never really got into 5 but I’ve been playing around with cammy and having a blast learning the game.

I still think Strive will remain my main game but it’s refreshing to have something different to change the pace up.

Anyway, here’s my custom control scheme I made up for SF6. It is CPT legal and quite comfortable

L3 and R3 are parry and DI since you need to be able to hit them FAST and my pinkies are weak from RSI damage.

Please feel free to share your thoughts on the game!

Cheers

Yeah, been playing for a week and it really seems like capcom went all out for this one. The World Tour mode is surprisingly fun and I genuinely laughed at some of the jokes and situations.

Still getting used to parrying properly but I’ll get there one day!

I haven’t gotten into world tour much yet but I agree the game overall is genuinely fun! I want to get it for my little sister cause she would love the single player stuff. She’s 9 and wins ranked tekken games + plays arakune in BBCF. She’s built different lol

Glad you’re enjoying the game! Would you be interested in maybe playing together sometime? I’m very much still in the beginning phases of learning the game, and IMO it’s more fun to learn together with friends

Maybe, I play pretty randomly and haven’t been on in a couple days.

I’ve mostly been grinding world tour, but starting to play ranked. I don’t really have a lot of fighting game experience, but I’ve managed to work my way up to silver so far, and still climbing.

So far I’ve been using Luke with modern controls. Haven’t learned any combos yet, mostly just trying to focus on fundamentals. It’s kind of funny when I beat people who have clearly put some effort into learning some big combo, but they don’t know how to block, or just let me keep anti-airing them. Once I get to gold, I’m planning to start trying new characters and figure out who I want to main.

Got you, I’m doin world tour as well for a few colors/costumes. Luke with modern controls is a monster! Glad you’re having fun.

I’m bronze atm and this is my very first fighting game. It’s really really fun. However before I left reddit every thread was filled with terminally online people discussing the most minute things it was crazy.

Ken seems to be the one I like most and it’s fun to log on most days and play 3 or 4 ranked matches.

Just this week learned how to do a drive rush (where you glow and dash really fast to your opponent).

So yeah sorry for the long answer but I’m an absolute noob who can only play a few hours a week and I’m loving it!

I didn’t like the new control scheme and I feel like I’ll be at a huge disadvantage playing with classic controls, so I uninstalled. Between that and Diablo 4 I’m out $170 for roughly 4 hours of gaming.

Yeah, I don’t like the modern controls either but I get that new players balk at 6 buttons. Can you not refund at least one of the games?

Idk, I keep thinking D4 might be good after a few patches (like d3) and I keep feeling like maybe I’ll revisit sf6, but it’s unlikely once Tekken 8 comes out. I should try to refund street fighter.

Damn, that’s unfortunate. I don’t like using modern either but I have no issue with other people using it. I would use hitbox or crossup with L3/R3 swapped to left and right inputs if I wanted the biggest advantage possible but I like playing on stick. It’s fun to me. At low to mid level play you can easily destroy people trying to abuse modern if you have better game sense, footsies, punishes, etc.

I’m not a big SF fan either but part of why I’m glad it’s doing so well (partially cause modern) is that it’s bringing a lot of new people into the scene. I know a lot of Smash players are jumping ship. Time will tell if they stay. People being excited about fighting games is a good thing for the FGC regardless of the game. Hopefully some people who get hooked on SF6 branch out and get strive or tekken etc.

As far as Diablo, I actually got a free copy with an RTX 4070 I bought for my GF. I haven’t opened it once yet, I might check it out today.

What was your issue with Diablo? (other than the obnoxious drm shit)

The gameplay mechanics of builders/spenders is much more oppressive in d4, gameplay is slower and (biggest complaint) I can’t zoom out far enough

Almost all matches in ranked are with classic controls. I’m at 549 games, and I think I’ve played against modern less than 5 times total.
