Tbh. I thought for a second that pinetime was it for me. Price bit more expensive than I hoped for but maybe reasonable idk. Then I looked at the US price and now I am stunned.

Are they sold from the US so tariffs apply? I can’t support that.

Wtf? 66.25 € inc. VAT?!?! I got mine end of 2023 for half the price if I remember correctly. Unless you really want to develope yourself I can’t recommend this watch. Infinitime (default OS) hadn’t a new release since Dec 2024 and most of the time I had connections issues combined with random restarts and high battery drain. Wasp os is probably dead.

Edit.: if you’re from Germany you can have mine sealed for a “Kasten Bier” xD

Wow! That’s a nice offer. Given your own experience, I am not sure if I am still interested though 😅 which is a bit sad given my previous enthusiasm. However, constant connection issues with random restarts and low battery life do not really sound enjoyable. I guess, I will continue looking for an open source smart watch that meets my expectations. Thank you so much for your reply and your offer though!

The eu store is a seperate warehouse for most stuff (I think maybe some phones ship always from china) but mostly it’s because they have eu taxes applied. Ordering directly from china, any vat or sales tax is applied at import into your country so the eu stuff, with it already applied will look ~20% more expensive.
