Price/Amount: $7 (part of the HTCC kit) / 10 mg THC per can - single-serving 12oz

Look/Feel: It’s just a can, nothing that fancy

Nose: Mild fruity aroma, a strong fruit punch scent. It doesn’t smell like cannabis or anything harsh.

Method: Drank entire can over ice

Taste: Straightforward fruit-punch flavor: reminds me of a sports drink, gatorade or powerade

Effect: I didn’t feel anything, but I have a a moderate to high tolerance.

Conclusion: If you’re looking for a simple, easygoing THC drink with a familiar taste, Layup Fruit Punch is a solid pick. It’s unfortuante these are capped at 10mg, I see them with 50mg in 16oz cans available at NJ liquor stores. With 21g sugar per can, I don’t want to have to drink more than 4 to feel something.

If comparing with other 10mg drinks, this gets a 9/10, where Tune and Ayrloom are (or can be) lower sugar. This is one I would be happy to recommend to someone with a low tolerance or curious about THC drinks.

The sports drink is intentional, as the website explains “Layup is co-founded by J.R. Smith, former NBA champion and current collegiate athlete and golfer. Known for his fearless play and focus under pressure, J.R. brings that same energy to the creation of Layup—a THC beverage designed to keep you clear, calm, and dialed in.”

Hey all, first time posting a review to see how it’s received. I started simple with a tasty drink, the real tip is in the conclusion comments.

I can start posting reviews for other products and dispensaries if there is interest.

Anyone can post reviews, for that matter. Ideally following a similar format to above so we can empower others consumers.

I really don’t care for these THC drinks. They don’t have the same high as an edible or smoke/vaping. They’re often far more couch locky and really not well suited for an alcohol alternative as they’re often marketed. Not good for a social event, for me. I’ve seen others think differently, but they’re often the kind to hide at parties after a bit of socializing anyway.
