Perfect. The Dems can continue to pretend like they are opposing Trump while not actually doing a goddamn thing.

Who gives a shit about the dems? If they continue to impeach and fail on following through that’s just more evidence that they’re unfit to hold any office. If the Rs cling tighter to the sinking ship, they’re just digging a deeper grave. Have them all list out the crimes and waffle around on the public stage.

There’s a lot the average person/voter should be doing but if you’re not demanding an impeachment whenever possible and keeping receipts on the collaborators you’re not doing the bare minimum. That’s true for literally any stance that opposes fascism. Even if you’re a dumbass accelerationist who just wants fascism to march forward and implode, you still should want a public display of systemic corruption.

so you’re just admitting it’s all theater. I ask again: What will a 3rd impeachment accomplish that a first or second didn’t?

I could never tell you if it doesn’t happen. If the 5th impeachment brings consequences then does it matter that the first 4 were powder puff? Is two the magic number fascists have to beat to stop thinking about impeachment forever? If you really believe it’s total theater without even an accidental chance of a positive outcome then why bother commenting on it? Go spend your efforts elsewhere.

Forcing a rep to publicly voice opposition is only a risk for that rep. They’re the one standing on the stage against the administration. Congress has to take time out of their busy schedule of banning abortion and legalizing slavery to debate it. Make them keep doing it until something breaks. It costs me literally nothing and it damages the legitimacy of this shit show government either way.

I am. I’m part of DSA. I’m marching with strikers. I’m helping teachers. I’m doing mutual aid. I’m protesting ICE and getting in the face of Proud Boys. We’re getting Socialists elected locally. I’m doing banner drops for Palestine.

            What have you accomplished lately?

Why the original comment then? What are you accomplishing with that?

Because I’d like to know: What will a 3rd impeachment accomplish that a first or second didn’t?

From your replies, it has confirmed what I suspected: absolutely nothing. Thanks for the discussion. Cheers!

Since you won’t accept the obvious answers, how about this: grassroots efforts that you or I push will get zero international public attention or are easily suppressed at worst. Any impeachment will automatically make the news and can’t be suppressed because the federal government is the USA’s international arm.

This isn’t just an America problem and it’s good for the world to see a verifiable measure of resistance. Unconfimable local tweets and phone videos, shockingly, don’t do much when the opposition can invent and cherry pick their own narratives.

What have you done specifically to help change that outcome? Or are you just loud?
