@[email protected] suggested we have a Weird Knife Wednesday.

(This should be for fun so please don’t yuck anyone’s weird. )

Turns out, I don’t have too many “weird” knives. But here’s a weird multitool.

I have no idea where it came from. It was gifted to me, possibly as a silly holiday stocking gift.

The hammer/pliers (pliemmers?) actually have a spring that sorta works. And also a tiny wire cutter in case you find yourself needing to cut, I don’t know, maybe 28 gauge wire?

Knife blade and combo-flat head/cap lifter really round out this tool set. The key ring is standard size for a sense of scale.

Just amazing.

Nice. I’ve used larger versions of that design. They work, but not terribly well. :-)

I have some contributions for this topic…

The Spyderco Introvert is a folder with a finger hole that also acts as a flipper. I love finger hole knives. Despite the odd design, this one works quite well.

The Spyderco Pochi works well as a small folder, but it also look like an adorable little dog.

The Ian Sinclair CardSharp 2 is a blade that folds down to the size of a credit card. It isn’t a great knife, but it works as an emergency backup. I do wish it were available with a better steel.

That Introvert is wild looking! I’ve never seen that before. It doesn’t look like it would sit in the pocket really well.

The Pochi is cute but I can’t imagine it’s particularly useful.

I always worry I’d forget about those credit-card knives and then get in trouble when going through security. LOL

The Introvert isn’t actually any wider than some of my other folders. Despite the odd shape, it carries and draws normally.

The Pochi is actually one of the best small folders I’ve used (and I’ve used a lot of them). The shape of the grip keeps your hand firmly in position. The blade shape works well for pull cutting and the fine clip-point tip can be handy too.

That is good to know re: Pochi. I have a few small folders due to local laws where my employers office is located but as I’m not going in very often I don’t get them in pocket regularly.

Maybe we should have a small knife day in the community as well. Hmmm…

Spyderco is particularly good at fitting a lot of function into a very small knife. The Pochi is expensive, but they have others at lower price points. In addition to the Pochi, I would check out their Lil Native and Dragonfly. And for really short limits there’s always the classic Ladybug.

I am in favor of small knife day.

The Lil Native looks good. I’ve had my eye on one of the KnifeJoy exclusives for a while as a way to try out Rit Dye.
