The Japanese PM used to be a drummer? That’s wild. I would have suggested Yoshiki of X Japan to represent the country. Also a noted pianist with a custom transparent (glass?) grand piano with his name on the side. Look up his video Red Swan, there’s a live version of it on a rooftop with that piano. There’s a point where he gets up from the piano, gets on the drums to do a rock solo part, then goes back to the piano. That’s the guy I would have chosen to represent Japan. (The singer in that song is hyde, stylized in lowercase, one of Japan’s biggest rock stars. Formerly of L’arcenCiel, where he performed in drag and killed it as a non-binary persona, he now performs solo. Also an incredible musician.
