Wait Audi is bringing their own engine? Thought they were continuing with Ferrari! Well now, that’s quite exciting.

That’s the whole reason why they rebrand to Audi this season: because they are a manufacturer team now.

Manufacturer branding doesn’t always mean works team though - looking at you, Alpine. Great news though, can’t wait to see what they bring now.

Alpine is not considered a manufacturer team anymore, no matter what they brand themselves as. They’re basically now what Aston Martin was before this year - bearing the name of a car company but don’t have works support.

I wonder how long Honda will make engines before they decide to exit F1 again? It would be weird for Aston Martin to have their own engines when their retail vehicles use Mercedes engines.

      Lawrence Stroll is paying Honda.

McLaren roadcars don’t use Mercedes engines but their F1 team does.

It’s engines produced by Red Bull power trains, who are a new engine manufacturer consisting of personnel who used to work at Honda, Mercedes, etc. They use some technology from Ford and brand it “Ford”, but it’s not Ford producing the engines

The engine doesn’t. The factory uses a metal 3D printer provided by Ford.

Red Bull Powertrains use Ford engines, right?

Lolnope. Ford can’t even design and build engines for their upcoming WEC hypercar without the help of Red Bull Powertrains. RBPT was established and running way before Ford paid big bucks to place a sticker.
