It’s a shame that measles generally affects the innocent children of anti-vaxxers. And they just put it down to “God’s plan” rather than actually blaming themselves. It’s the parents that need taking out. One of the benefits of COVID was that kids weren’t affected too bad but it would kill anti-vaxxers and idiots.
There’s something I saw one time that has always stuck with me. A conservative person once said that they believe vaccines cause autism, but that they would rather have an autistic kid than a dead kid. But maybe we can push more of this? If your kid becomes autistic, it’s God’s plan?

measles is less dangerous to children , adults would get a more severe infection, this is the same for the other vaccinated disease, besides pertussis, flu. flu and pertussis more severe in children because of the lack of exposure.

I got shingles last year. The first week I was back at work three people looked at me and said “I should get that vaccine”

Not exactly. Zoster virus as a child can lead to pox, flu symptoms, then recede into the immune system for life. If then immune compromised, the virus flares back up in nerve endings and skin, causing pain, inflammation, and can affect the brain.
Getting zoster for the first time as an adult is severe, but rare.
Is this a refresher shot or did they not do it early in childhood?
I’m not a medical professional, just did a quick search to verify: the first shot wasn’t available for children until 1995, so older generations couldn’t get it during childhood. That shot was only for children, a version for adults over the age of 60 came later in 2006, but was limited in effectiveness. In 2017 a new vaccine was introduced with significantly higher effectiveness for people over 50.
