Hey all, I know no one is in this community yet, but I figured I’d try to make some discussion. With words of the Flip 5 on the horizon and it’s far bigger cover screen, anyone interested in it?

I’ve been a Flip 4 user since last August and I’ve been loving the phone. I’m definitely interested in upgrading if Samsung has some decent trade in deals (I’ve heard they were fantastic for Flip 3 --> 4). Thoughts?

I traded my z flip 3 in for an s23 ultra due to low battery, cracks on the crease, and lack of more powerful features like DeX and better cameras and s pen compatibility. I don’t think the flip 5 fixes any of this besides the slightly better battery life. So I will be waiting until a future generation does. Really dig the large outer screen though. Hope it has a main screen interface one day and not just the crappy widget interaction method to access all the apps

I’m excited to see the foldable space improve. Have you seen Motorola’s latest flip? There needs to be more competition so Samsung doesn’t sit there and do nothing like they’ve done from Flip 2-4

I would have debated between Motorola’s previous folding phone and the Flip 4, but it looks like Motorola’s last folding phone wasn’t released in the US. I wonder if they will be releasing their newer version more widely.

Motorola really is on to something with their latest RAZR. It’s really looking like its own thing rather than a spin on Samsung’s flip. The cover display is something they do like no other OEM does on a flip phone and it makes me happy to see some actual competition.

If they make the bezel narrower, and better battery/camera.

Nah not me. It’s a very cool phone, but I just don’t have any use for a phone that can be a more compact form factor when I’m not using it.

I wanna say I’m looking forward to the Fold 5, but I’m still not sure I want a folding phone until the crease can be less visible. The Chinese brands seem to be getting closer to that goal, but I’d rather not buy a Chinese phone if I can avoid it.

Happy with my S23 Ultra for now!

That’s fair. Women’s pockets are tiny so the idea of a phone that actually fits in the damn things made me jump on board immediately when my old phone died lol. Have you seen Google’s newest folding phone project? It seems they are trying to compete with the Samsung Fold line and it’s exciting to see new competition.

I’m hyped. While the fold upgrade seems incremental, the flip with the new other screen is going to be great.
