What is Being Requested?
Charter Communications, Inc. and Charter Communications Holdings, LLC (collectively, “Charter”), along with Cox Enterprises, Inc. (“Cox”), are requesting approval of the indirect transfer of control of Cox California Telcom, LLC (“Cox California”), a Cox subsidiary, to Charter.
Current Cox monopoly service area customer here, and I don’t love them, but this sounds like a recipe to make things even worse.
I’ve had spectrum since they were roadrunner under gte. I’ve always had good service. But I’ve really never had any choice. I think the only competition is in the wireless 5g space. I’m giving mint mobile a try. Less than half spectrums price.
Municipalities should really own the wire to the home. And let providers compete for access.
