Another day, another show canceled by Netflix.
I’d be curious why Vince Staples reviewed so well with critics and viewers but didn’t find an audience at Netflix. Not pushed by the recommendation system? Maybe the remaining Netflix subscriber base is less interested in satirical comedy these days?
FWIW I’m always on the lookout for more comedy shows, and this is the first time I’ve heard of it
Spiritual successor to Atlanta imho. Heartbroken to see it cancelled.

Were they ever? I can’t think of any hit other than I Think You Should Leave.
I think you should leave isn’t satirical I don’t think. It’s just a ton of absurdism.
I’d say it’s both. It kind of had the Tim and Eric sensibility: some sketches start as satire of real life concepts and eventually get driven into absurdity.
Then some are just… absurd and were clearly picked only because they’re funny.
Damn, I was really enjoying the Abandons.
Honestly I opened The Abandons, saw a woman who looked like a blow-up doll in a TV show set in the 1850s and just couldn’t take it seriously.
The Abandons was an abomination so good riddance.
