[cont] Man City also checked player’s side — understand Rice is open to any move so deal depends on the clubs now.
Arsenal, planning to bid again since last week. ⚪️🔴 #AFC
I think Arseblog makes a really good point here.
West Ham were surely always going to delay until City came in – plus they made the rejections public immediately.
This was probably inevitable and in the best interest of West Ham to have a bidding war start.
Can Josh just dump a whole truck of money in front of them and be done with it?
Shit. This Rice transfer has taken a bad turn.
I’m not too worried just yet. City have the money but have a tendency to walk away when their transfer targets are over priced and I’m guessing West Ham will play hard ball a little bit, which will only chase away buyers when you are demanding 100m for a player on their last year of contract.
I expect City to be as stingy with their offer as we were, and then back out after West Ham demand even more money.
Believe rice has two years left but turned down a new contract.
His contract runs until 2024 with a club option for another year.
@Gingerrific @Panzer517 maybe timber can play dm
I haven’t watched him play, and I’m clueless as to his capabilities.
What will be, will be. It’s really annoying of course, especially with Mudryk memories still fresh, but we can’t get into a crazy bidding war. All that matters is if Rice wants us.
This will be a massive egg on the face of our recruitment team if they can’t land Rice. After what happened with Mudryk, I hope they have learned their lesson.
Why do I feel like this is bullshit?
Because West Ham are desperate for anyone else to challenge us on Rice.
Boo, stop buying sport
