Nothing in the article indicated that Russia was involved in this in any way.

    From the article:

The issues come less than a week after TikTok’s Chinese owner, ByteDance, was forced to divest a majority stake in its US operations to a group of investors loyal to President Trump, who was a close associate with the late convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Is this censorship problematic? Absolutely. It is horrific. But it isn’t exactly off-brand for Trump and his cronies. It’s not like Russia holds the patent on “censor people who say mean things about me.”

I’m not saying this with any kindness towards Russia, either. I’m just saying that making logical leaps like that makes you sound like a conspiracy nut.

oh my stance on the russia stuff isnt just from this article; im just saying its part of a pattern now of doing stuff that can all be seen as, at a glance, unamerican-like and more russian-like. straight up censorship about leadership? that used to go on in russia all the time and not here. standard stuff over there, suddenly introduced here. no one batting an eye but the crazies like me!? :p ill bat that eye then.
