Uh oh, hurting the big guy’s fee fees is a diplomatic incident. The guy is like a child at this point, there is no separation between his base emotions and what he says or acts on. The party is running the show and holding his hand through it, he’s a figurehead, already led to betray his america first agenda, and to decline to use the tariffs to bring back manufacturing from countries that undercut us on labor and the environment as our politicians willingly helped them sell out our technology and labor so wall street could make a quick buck.
There is nothing populist left in the president, he’s too corrupt to acheive anything else, his prescription drug thing for instance. Maybe if this was 4 years earlier he would have the wherewithall to buck the party leading him around by the nose, but not now.
