It sure would create a serious issue, possibly even civil war in Canada. The Trump admin (because I do not believe Trump himself is at the wheel anymore) is trying to do to Canada what Russia was trying to do to Ukraine via Donbas - sow enough “well these people WANT to be American, but Canada won’t let them” to sound like a casus belli to our population in the US.
