So O got these 2 bows and I want to be sure which one is better.

This one has +10 att. Meaning it deals 48+10=58 damage.

This one has 32 att and shits 5 arrows. Meaning it deals 32x5=160 damage.

Assuming all 5 arrows hit the target, the second one is by far better right?

As all 5 arrows seem to be shot in a line, what are the odds I hit the target with all 5 arrows ?

Isn’t it more efficient to hit one time at 58 instead of taking a chance to hit more than 32 ?

The damage bonus is already factored in. The first bow is normally only 38 DMG but got turned into a 48 DMG bow by the +10 bonus.

A 5-shot bow only deals maximum damage if all arrows actually hit their target, which is difficult to achieve if you’re not directly in front of the enemy anyway (like shooting a Lynel in the back of the head after the rodeo) ((EDIT: I completely forgot about fused eyeballs, so please disregard that sentence.))

Personally, I use single-shot bows for sniping faraway targets (headshots deal extra damage) and multishot bows to carpet-bomb camps with explosive ammo, to get the most out of the bonuses.

PS: the second one is still better. If at least 2 arrows hit, it already deals 32*2 = 64 DMG whereas the Royal Bow is still only a 38 DMG bow. Plus, elemental affects apply per arrow, so if you for example fuse a shockfruit to an arrow and use a 5-shot bow during rain, you get five electric AoEs stunning and damaging foes nearby.

PS: all bow stats (and lots of other stuff) datamined from the game code: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18pNtDx3z-8CwGJRmlW574xbQ6VphQOkvpZhClpOEVDA/edit#gid=0

If you fuse eyeballs to the arrows you’ll have a decent chance of inflicting all that damage though, right? I positively wrecked a flame gleeok yesterday using a 3x lynel bow with ice keese eyeballs.

Oh I completely forgot about those, lol. But you’re correct: Especially the elemental Keese Eyeballs are super convenient in this case, as Fire / Ice Gleeoks take extra damage from the opposing element.

    It’s 48 (royal bow has a base of 38, +10 attack = 48)

And the other shoots 5 arrows for 32 each. Only uses one arrow/item per shot though

You need to look at damage per second. How long does it take to fire each bow?

If both fire at the same speed, then, yes, 160>58.

If the 58 bow is faster than the 160 bow, you only have to get off 3 shots for the 58 bow to be better (58 x 3 = 174).
