- Reducing the number of traffic lanes from four with a center turn lane to two with a center turn lane. Two parking lanes will remain on each side of the road.
- A 14-foot, two-way bike lane protected by a seven-foot buffer will be installed on the west side of the road from Court Street to Casino Drive. The two-way bike lane will move to the east side of the road from Casino to Morris Street. At Morris Street, the bike lanes will switch to one-way on both sides of the street, with three-foot protective buffers. A small portion of Gilbert close to downtown has a bike lane, but it is unprotected from cars.
