@stoy While their mandate ‘Buy American’ goes back to 1950 with the Defense Procurement Act. For European companies to qualify they demand production be at least 50% based in the US and often a full transfer of IP.

Yeah, they have for decades screamed about the EU getting a free ride in NATO, while we have quietly been helping them massively with arms R&D and scaling production.
There is a YT channel mainly hosted by a former officer from the Finnish defense forces who explains how many orders the US have lost with all of Trumps shenanigans, it is called MilitaryRated, and what I really like about it is that they doesn’t just stop at numbers, they quantify that into jobs lost over years/decades.
