US-based lender Citibank announced the temporary closure of its branches and financial centers in the United Arab Emirates from March 12 to 14 as a precautionary measure following Iranian threats to target American and Israeli financial institutions in the region.

    Kind of out of character for big banks to care more about employees lives than bank properties, but I guess most banking is a series of ledgers centralized elsewhere, and I welcome this.
