In a world-first experimental result, scientists at the University of Sydney have used a quantum computer to coax an atom to behave the same way as a photo-chemical process that underpins the speed of human vision and solar energy harvesting - only at speeds 100 billion times slower than in nature.

    There are so many discoveries like this that, as amazing as they are, end up slightly disappointing, simply because it takes AGES for the tech to start to have a meaningful impact on day to day living. The vistas such discoveries open are amazing but when are we going to see it’s effects in consumer grade things, for sustainability?
