Imagine it’s 1981 again. You have the ear of Steve Jobs. He’s trying to recreate some of what was revealed about the Alto at Xerox PARC. Instead of choosing the Motorola 68000, you recommend he buy Commodore for control of the MOS Foundry. To then design a 32bit extended 6502 for backward compatibility with the Apple II. To create Apple Silicon all the way back then for design control and vertical integration. Jack Tramiel should have been Apple’s CEO instead of John Scully. A combined Apple and Commodore could have taken on IBM.
