This meme was actually the subject of a nicely written news article. I am glad I ran across the story, it was lovely little path to have walked.
Ha! She’s a student anchor. And there’s debate over whether she’s actually goth, and what that even means.
When I was a kid, if you listened to Joy Division or The Cure, that was goth. All black, lots of hairspray, gaudy silver jewelry, Friday night showings of Faces of Death on VHS (!), a midnight stroll through the town cemetery … goth.
I’m just too old to judge any more. But thank you for the link. Most entertaining! 😂
By my time and geography it’d become Manson, Rob Zombie, and Sepultura, similar palette but a very different subculture from several years before. I did and do like it all, but then, I was not goth, just goth-adjacent via friends, hehe.
The last time we had goth prognosticators Rome got sacked.
