Why not both?
I think Trackmania is in weird spot between games like Team Fortress 2 where everything is community driven and developers just chill and games like CS, RL and LOL where most major competitions are developer driven. I wonder how all of this is interpreted by Nadeo.
CS got where it is thanks to community driven events. It’s great to let communities have so much power and creativity within their game, and it will ultimately activate user feedback such that Nadeo could course correct if they misstepped. Don’t forget, Trackmania has seriously stood the test of time. As a former eSports fan, I despise LoL’s developer driven approach.
