Did boxing for 2 years and thought my cardio was decent. Started Muay Thai last month and I’m GASSED within minutes. The kicks absolutely destroy your gas tank in a way punches don’t.

The clinch work is another level. 30 seconds of clinch fighting feels like 3 minutes of bag work.

Any Muay Thai people here? How long did it take for your cardio to adapt to the kicking game? And do you structure your rounds differently for Thai vs Western boxing?

    Try jujitsu if you really want a workout. Any ground technique will smoke you inside of 5 minutes if you aren’t used to it. Muay thai is great for exercise but i’ve seen too many broken legs from kicks for me to be cool with using it in an actual fight.
