I still remember my I-kinda-already-knew-that disappointment when I learned that in the US, “Ingredients: 100% Orange juice” means that 100% of what’s in the bottle is the bullshit concoction they’ve decided to call orange juice, not that 100% of it came out of an orange.
Mmm what’s that berry concoction… I think it’s raspberry flavoring… That’s literally made from beaver anal juices.
You’re thinking of castoreum, which has been used in vanilla, raspberry and strawberry flavouring. But nowadays, synthetic flavouring is way cheaper to make, so it’s not going to be in anything you buy at the supermarket.
