In a statement, Responsible Wagering Australia - the peak body for betting agencies - said the new measures are “draconian” and set a “dangerous precedent”.

So a step in the right direction.

“Today it’s gambling advertising, tomorrow it’s alcohol, then it’s sugary drinks, fast food, critical minerals and who knows what else comes next,” chief executive Kai Cantwell said.

    Yes. Please yes.

Where were their “draconian” virtue signals when the government colluded with surveillance capitalist techno-fascists to force Australians to hand over their identity to big brother to use social media?

Oh, that’s right. They only exist for greed and exploitation; they only believe what they’re paid to believe.

Ahh, the ol’ “slippery slope” logical fallacy. You can dismiss statements like those. You don’t even need to debate it.

I am sure they made the same arguments back when tobacco was being targeted.

Wasn’t the gambling industry behind pushing the whole ‘no kids on social media’ thing. Kicking off I’d verification everywhere and now they still can’t run ads but the internet is worse off. Wild.
