I feel there's a lot of complaining about "Videogame logic" but sometimes it just makes sense.

This is maintaining us into a racing contest instead of cooperation.
    We still lose.

@NickEast_IndieWriter @[email protected] @[email protected] @economy @economics @[email protected] @[email protected] @aiop An early combat racing game, Racing Destruction Set, went the opposite way.

The only weapons in Racing Destruction Set worked backwards. You could drop mines or oil slicks. Which did not actually make good sense from a game design perspective.

If you were behind, all you could really do is drop a mine in a choke point and hope to get the one in front on the next lap (if there was one).

    Not good game design.

@NickEast_IndieWriter @[email protected] @[email protected] @economy @economics @[email protected] @[email protected] @aiop This is distributism at its core: The bigger the company and the smaller its contribution to public goods, the stronger the case for breaking up its power and returning ownership, responsibility, and economic life to smaller, human-scale institutions.

    #distributism

Mario Kart doesn’t give you less-useful items in the front; they just typically become more defensive-oriented. And you can still use bananas and green shells in an offensive manner; it just requires more skill than a red shell.

“They’re not useful they’re just [bunch of words to explain that they’re less useful, but maybe not useless]”

      Amazing stuff

Bruh, last place gets you a bullet bill. That’s nowhere near the same level of utility as a green shell

What good does a Bullet Bill or Blue Shell do in first? I actually made it into first holding a Blue Shell once and fired it out of curiosity. It went around the entire track and shot myself. Red Shell is mainly good if someone passes you. My ideal loadout in first is Mushrooms and Bananas or maybe Green Shells. Some games have a Super Horn which is also great because it destroys Blue Shells.
