In a suburb north of my city there was this restaurant called star voyager that tried to have a star trek like aesthetic without getting close enough to get sued. Had a lot of actual nasa stuff do in the waiting area. Honestly it was just restaurant tables with office chairs, wait people dressed kinda uniformy, and space themed menu names. It was not expensive though and kinda a fun idea.

Now imagine moving to Las Vegas less than a month after it closed.

    Yeah.

I heard of this when I was a kid… always wanted to go, but never made it out… was still a poor university student by the time it shut down.

The real stinger is that in 2014 my parents moved to Vegas, so I’m out that way all the time now… but a bit too late to experience it.

it’s was like a REALLY expensive version of the disney minus most of the rides.

the real treasure wasn eating/drinking at quarks and engaging with the vulcans, ferengi’s, klingons, etc. walking around the promenade replica and at the bar; they were REALLY dedicated to their characters.

Went there shortly before it closed. The bar was great, except there was this guy called Morn who wouldn’t shut up.

I went in March 1998 right after getting married in Vegas! I remember it being really good. Quark’s served a cocktail for two called the Warp Core Breach that was the size of a fishbowl, got me and my new wife wasted. We may have had more than one. Still married 28 years later!

i finished one of those myself and shared a double order of the holy rings of betazed while arguing about rules of acquisition with one of the ferengi actors; it was one of the most memorable meals i’ve ever had in my entire life… or atleast the parts i can remember that weren’t wiped out by the alcohol. lol

It was brilliant. They had these over priced, watered down multi liquor drinks called a Warp Core Breech which was alcohol served in a fish bowl with dry ice and long straws. We used to go all the time. It was a blast.

You could get married on the bridge of the Enterprise D! By a Starfleet Officer (generic in dress whites) or an alien (Ferengi, Klingon). The cast members were all union SAG/AFTRA members.

Quarks was incredibly overpriced and simultaneously totally worth it.

They had a whole museum of props, plus a recreation of entire sets for the experience. It was incredible.
