Someone call that one person that wants to reintroduce þ to English

This was the site of Iceland’s parliament for the best part of an entire millennium. It seems so humble for such a place

Hello, it is I. Your local Icelandic person. It is pronounced like the th in thorn or thing.

I am proud to say that I know a decent amount about Icelandic pronunciation despite not being able to speak it! This is entirely because Skálmöld songs are really fun to sing along to so I memorised the soinds of a few of them

Edit: and also that one time Eyjafjallajökull shut down air travel over half of Europe

Skálmöld is my favourite band and half my t-shirts have their logo because I make bad financial decisions when I go to their concerts.

Entirely valid, they’re amazing. I wish I could have been there for the concert with the Icelandic symphony orchestra

I didn’t go to the one they recorded in 2013 but they did it again in 2018 with songs from Með Vættum, Vögguvísur Yggdrasils, and Sorgir and it was amazing.
