So it’s been a hot minute since I’ve last played, and overall I’m too far, 1 maybe 2 dwarves prestige for the first time. context aside point of this post is for modding.

I know the game has an in game mod manager, I haven’t used it but I’ve heard it’s doodoo. I know there’s one popular one, but my thing is i play on both my pc and steam deck, preferably I’d want one that works on both so I can just have to learn one application. I also have no idea where to download mods so that would be helpful to know.

In terms of mods themselves since Im early I only wanna go for client side stuff, like heat gauges or platform previews. The thing is I read using the in game mod manager tags your game as modded (even with these clientside only mods), but not if your using one of the mod managers.

I probably have other questions but I am blanking, also had to leave and comeback to this post so hopefully this makes sense.

    I run DRG on my Linux desktop and use Mint to load mods. It should, in theory, work on the Steam Deck.

      So was trying to get it on my steam deck and I’m figuring it’s a linux problem. Im following this guide, the same one I used on my PC and had no issues. I’m at the step where I paste in the mod.io key and it’s throwing an error, “error sending request for url error trying to connect”. I’ve tried rebooting, and thats really all my computer knowledge extends to. I am using the .exe version through wine, no idea how its set up cus it “just worked”. I did try the linux version first, but on that after extracting it and running Mint nothing happened, so I tired the .exe one and that managed to launch.

      Any linuxy wisdom would be appreciated

      Ah good to know the in game one isn’t unusuable. Prolly gonna use that until I can get mint working on my deck as i said in another comment
