Yeah this is straight up illegal. The FTC and EU don’t give a shit if this was “just a test” or “a whoopsie doopsie.”

Big ol’ fine incoming for every day this isn’t fixed.

Ok, but that was probably going to happen anyway? Apple learned after people pitched an absolute shit fit when they changed at once from the 30-pin connector to lightning to never do that again. So they’ve been switching over the products one line at a time to USB-C. First MacBooks, then iPads one update at a time until now all the new ones are USB-C. My guess is iPhones were always gonna be next.

It’s actually fairly simple. If a user notices a post in their feed from an account they don’t follow, they can simply click or tap on the three dot icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the specific post. This will open a drop-down menu.

However, if the post is an ad, this menu provides additional options. … “Not interested in this ad,” … “Report ad” … “Why this ad?”

You bet your ass that they are going to get rid of those options.

I wonder if this is a bug not a feature. Since, ya know, 90%(?) of the workforce was essentially forced out

The bug is the feature. Firing 90% of the company doesn’t just save you a ton of money, and doesn’t just trim the fat or rot of a company. It removes any dissidents and skeptics who don’t have total, unwavering, boot-licking loyalty. Even Musk fanboys were likely forced out just for questioning whether it was a good idea to fire 90% of them. The slightest hint of independent critical thinking is snuffed out by force, or leaves the company voluntarily when they see the writing on the wall, or they are merely unable to leave.

What else could that maneuver possibly produce except a small army of sycophants?

And then once you have those sycophants, it doesn’t matter whether you make good or bad decisions, you will never ever be challenged on them. You don’t have to worry about how your orders become reality or if you break any laws along the way, your gang of losers will make it happen and won’t ask for a penny of overtime pay.

Hanlon’s Razor is dead, at least as applied to Musk, because the malice and stupidity are one and the same.

      EDIT: Consideration for H1B

You do realize that a lot of employeess that stayed at Twitter after Musk’s take over did so because their work visas were tied to the occupation and otherwise they would have had to leave the country on short notice?

You’re right, I didn’t think of that, but that’s another great example of how much contempt Musk has for his employees, and how he can ensure their loyalty: “do what I say, or I will have you deported.”

Later, Musk tweets that they were just doing to a test to collect data. Because they want to prove that having to label them is bad and destroys engagement.

Someone ping me if this happens.

I don’t allow automatic updates for apps because I’ve seen updates break things that were entirely functional too many times so now I only update if something is already broken…

So, I don’t see any of this crap either… And I do occasionally get interesting notifications from it.

But, I’m still getting closer and closer to just ditching it every time I see crap like this.

I don’t have that weird musk hatred fetish that many seem to have. But I also do not really like him. I like some of his actions and dislike many. I guess I could say I really don’t care about musk at all. Anyway, one thing for sure is that the guy is insanely entertaining. It’s been a while since since I’ve seen someone so monumentally screw up something that wasn’t really that broken.

Power? He has money. Nothing much else. The people that work for him are doing so willingly. The people that use Twitter are doing so freely. The haters give him more publicity than the people that adore him. People were gloating that if someone didn’t like the platform they should leave and use something else. Now the tables have turned. Anyone that hates musk but uses Twitter is a fool.

He literally caused deaths in Ukraine for violating his dod starlink contract because he personally felt if Ukraine kicked Russia ass too hard, Russia would nuke the world.

A CIVILLIAN JUST DECIDED TO CAUSE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLES DEATH IN UKRAINE BY NOT HONORING HIS CONTRACT BECAUSE HE INSERTED HIMSELF WHERE HE SHOULDNT OF. Oh and the cock sucker STILL is out here lying starlink hasn’t been paid for the use of that when the fucking American DoD and European DoDs PAID FOR UKRAINES FUCKING ACCESS

That’s having too much power. Honestly just that alone I feel should put him up against a firing squad but that’s just me.

Or you could scroll past things you personally are not interested in instead of spending more time to post a complaint. You could also get a client that allows keyword muting so you don’t have to see it.

The world is full of things that people “could” do.
