Would you mind explaining that to my wife? It’s related to a different talk about measurements

Every time you patronize Chick-fil-A, some of that money you’re spending is given by Chick-Fil-A’s owners, The Cathys which they use to fund violent and deadly “christian” anti homosexuality legislation in the third world, after decades of doing the same exact thing in the US, which sees LGBTQ in Africa, Asia, and South America tortured and brutally murdered just for being gay. They’ve been doing this for decades.

No chicken sandwich is worth the abuse and murder of gay people. Why don’t you know this, and if you do know, why don’t you care?

I just came to say I also couldn’t look past the brand on these sauces… Like, that’s a lovely story about a cute kitten/cat, but that restaurant has done awful things to innocent human beings.

Edit: Oh, important addition: Chickfilet directly donated company profits to the anti-lgbtq groups, including those with ties to conversion therapy (forcing LGBT kids into being straight, and teaching them not-straight thoughts are evil and wrong.)

Wait until you hear about basically every cardboard box you’ve ever used. Uline? Why don’t you know this, and, if you do, why don’t you care?

I see I’m getting downvoted. All I see is a cat post.

          Context?

It didn’t have anything to do with the cute cat… OP happened to use sauces from chic fil a, which implies they eat there. Eating there arguably supports an organization that has been caught, many times now, spending its money to reduce the rights for people they don’t approve of. It’s received a lot of press over the years but not so much your expect most people to know about it.

The Wikipedia bit didn’t even get into their involvement in African politics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick-fil-A_and_LGBT_people

And being preachy on Lemmy fixes what exactly? This is a meme about a cat and sauce packets and it devolves into political bullshit. There’s a time and place to push an agenda.

Lemmy is going to die if all we got are the sensitive redditors that preach constantly over the millions of things out there that offend them.

The profit from your chicken sandwich is enough to buy a rope to lynch a person.

Maybe stop being a self-righteous asshole and understand that your choices have consequences, even if you think your contribution to evil is too small to count.

Oh no, I’d hate it if people who don’t care about whether or not they’re funding conversion camps for children and anti-LGBT legislation ate a bunch of food that’s terrible for their health. I would be so owned if their arteries hardened and their hearts enlarged!

Yeah, i came for cute cat context and hadn’t zoomed enough to see the brand name… Otherwise might’ve predicted the backlash
