I’m pretty hyped for the changes and going to try a probably dumpster fire game with them this Friday
I can’t keep up. Still on 3rd edition. But Rick Priestley’s work on Bolt Action is chef’s kiss. So simple. And fights mean something. 40k was like stomp out into the open and trade shots. BA i had US paratroopers keeping German Heer squad’s heads down the entire game. Rick is goat
I’m disappointed the “Fourk” project imploded. A fan made cleanup of 4th edition seemed really promising.
Interesting. I dabbled in fourth before stopping public gaming. Went to solo and house rules mid fourth. House rules attributed back to 3rd.
The biggest wins in BA rules could really help make 40k fun again. Drawing order dice for your unit turn. And how easy close combat became. Even solo play, if in 40k i had a huge melee happen, I’m like ok game over. I don’t have the energy for this. BA close combat is crazy simple. I still cringe when BA troops melee then i remember it’s all good now.
