(Demonstrated at this link)
I don’t think I have ever seen a Lemmy client that shows image alt text at all, or in this clear way. That’s pretty cool!
I guess my one concern about it would be whether the button itself would obscure that corner part of the image if artwork was there, but that’s no big deal.
You linked directly to Lemmy.world, so we can’t see it.
Weird, is it not showing an XKCD comic crosspost? I don’t understand how to do those… It is pointing on my end in Blorp to: https://lemmy.world/post/47626053
Okay now click the link you just posted and see what happens
Well, it went to my browser and pulled up the entry there as a tab because Blorp seems to lack the ability to set itself for default links. You can very obviously see the
/post/part of the hyperlink, though, so if there’s an error, it’s not on the link’s part…You just have to use the share button:
https://blorpblorp.xyz/inbox/posts/https%3A%2F%2Fprogramming.dev%2Fpost%2F51374253
Pressing “share link to comment” on your comment yields the following link: https://piefed.social/comment/11580090
Is this incorrect? I intentionally refer back to the original material whenever possible. It feels cleanest.
You might have to double check your settings. Yes it is the cleanest link but it’s not the Blorp link so we can’t see what you’re talking about.
Oh. I wasn’t referring to nor even aware of a Blorp link…
I actually don’t think alt text is working correctly here, but in general I like what mastodon does, so I’m trying to model it after that.
The only alt text I see is “Enable JavaScript and cookies to continue”.
There is a little “ALT” box in the bottom-right that, when tapped in Blorp, shows what the mouse cursor would “
onmouseover” on desktop. It shows XKCD’s typical, humorous tooltip of commentary on the comic.
