I got up onto the Ross Island Bridge last night with a friend, and I was trying to capture the view of downtown through the Tillikum Bridge, arranged like a gate, much like one of my best works, but with a cool sunset behind it.
As it turns out, that bridge bounces several centimeters every time anything on wheels gets on the bridge, which means every single one of my stacked exposure HDR shots never lined up, plus it was windy, and the clouds were moving so fast that the sky just looked like hot garbage.
So I turn around and shoot the south waterfront out of frustration, instantly making decent art.
Thanks for seeing my unintentional cool art?
Hmm, you wouldn’t happen to have a higher res/raw version would you? I kinda want to make this my desktop bg

That’s the highest-res PNG I can make. I don’t think you would want the RAW, as it strips out all the color grading and edits I did to make this a good picture. It’s just a spreadsheet of the camera’s sensor values at the moment of capture, and probably wouldn’t resemble reality.
Nice, thanks!

Ooooh, aw yeah!
The one single salvageable frame from those stacks, which wasn’t even very good:

Sometimes photography is a bust, and that’s okay too.
Before opening your post, my first thought was “a picture of Portland without a bridge in it?”. Then I read your explanation 😅.

One of my recent works: a picture of Portland with a bridge in it.
