3 years ago today Lemmy.zip was created, and what a journey it has been!
I never thought it would grow beyond a few users, and that it would probably crash and burn after I inevitably broke something.
Amazingly, we’re still here and now the 3rd most active Lemmy server!

I want to say a big thank you to the admin team v4ld1z, gazby, and INeedMana for helping me to keep things running, and to all the moderators who take take the time to build and foster their communities.

Probably the wrong place to ask this, but have there been reliability issues in the past week or so? I keep getting logged out, post comments don’t always load, and I have to retry posting quite often. I know last time there was a federation issue.
Doing some investigating! Let me know if you’re using an app or the mobile site too :)

Wow, congrats! I never realized how early I joined Lemmy.zip, right from the beginning this instance have been waaay more stable and well run than its age and a volunteer adminteam would make me think possible. Thanks for doing all of the work, so the rest of us can sit back and enjoy lemmy.zip.

The time flies, and soon it’s like “Wait, how long have I been running this instance?”
What an interesting recap. I’m a little bit surprised, though, that I only ended up using 41 instances, although I ended up using like 500 different communities on those instances.
