It’s rough. HRT really helped me but I know not everyone can be on it.

Yeah im 38 and idk if its because I havnt had to interact with the profesional world for a few years , or if it’s this, but I am definately feeling peak with stimming.

I sometimes make uh, I guess I can describe as dinosaur sounds, to release angst (usually try and frame it as goofy humor) and I almost fuckin did it in public the other day. I caught it, but jesus christ im losing control of my mask fast

Making weird sounds and singing made up songs is my specialty! I totally get the dinosaur sounds. Oh, the masks we wear.

I wonder whether this would apply to autism too, considering we’re in the same family so to speak?

I found puberty and adolescence a horrific sensory nightmare and social hell scape, complete with crushing depression, and was expecting something similar

However I appear to be sailing through menopause with help from my hrt. Apart from moments when I definitely need space, I think I’m doing better than I expected to. Maybe I’m finally becoming a wise old woman lol 😆

That was honestly the first thing that came to my mind too. I saw the graph and thought it looks so much like my experience with my mom.

I’d really love for them to study this properly (HA!)

I’m rawdogging menopause because me and hormonal medication are very very much Not Friends, ( I’ve discovered that multiple times and have always wondered how much is tied into my ASD) and i gotta say apart from the temperature regulation and energy levels it’s stabilising itself out. But I haven’t noticed the brain fog many go on about, emotiional instability hasn’t been too outre, so who’s doing studies about neurodivergence and hormones?
