I have more hours than I care to admit in this game. I have any ship I want with every upgrade I want. I’ve played every style you can think of. Cargo. Mining. Bounty Hunter. Pirate. AX. You name it.
But nothing, I mean nothing, beats hoping in my DB Explorer, picking a star way out in the rim, and heading out for weeks or months at a time.
Stumbling on an undiscovered earth-like orbiting some unnamed star and knowing that not only are you the first, but most likely the only player who will ever visit it.
Addictive.
This is the type of stuff that makes me want to play this game. But every time I try I want to play it with a proper sim setup. So I keep putting it off. Screenshot is flippen neat.
It is very immersive to play with a HOSAS system, but honestly I played with a controller for quite some time and it was still great. I would give it a shot!
I eventually set up a program on a tablet that let me map actions to icons so I could have a touchscreen control panel so that plus the sticks is pretty wild lol
I…somehow always forget I can play with a controller on PC. Just never occurs to me lol. The setup with the tablet sounds sick though! What program?
I will say I haven’t used it in years, I stopped playing elite for quite some time now so I don’t know if the program got enshittified or anything but it doesn’t look like it.
