If russia goes to war with Poland, russia will be even more hopelessly screwed than it already was, Poland will kick russia’s ass.
I doubt they could afford such a conflict. Not just economically, but public support wouldn’t be the best, I don’t think.
Gonna be Romania I reckon.
I guess they have a window of opportunity before Romania obtains a wall of Abrams tanks, but delivery timelines can be accelerated in crisis…

The idea of russia taking on 50-200 top of the line Abrams tanks is comical, contrary to uninformed media narratives the Ukraine War has demonstrated that the Abrams is a far superior tank to anything but the Stridsvagn 122 which exists in much smaller number primarily because the actually effective armor design of the Abrams tank simply outclasses russian lineage designs to the point that they aren’t even really the same category of tool.
Even most Leopards are undermined by a German fixation on light armor.
Suffice to say Romania would also kick russia’s ass.
Isn’t the Sv122 basically just a slightly different flavour of the Leopard 2A6 / 2A7?
It’s not super relevant, since Russia is still incapable of proper combined arms warfare. They have no real air support and no mechanized infantry to speak of.
Just armor is going to get killed, no matter what tank it is. As Russia insists on showing us every single day, over and over again.
It is actually properly armored, even later Leopard 2s are poorly designed with too little armor. Germany could have designed them with more armor but their fighting culture was disconnected from reality.

No, russia has proved russian lineage tanks are obsolete, but the issues drones have revealed were present in russian armor for decades and the Abrams was designed to NOT bullshit armor design and as such has performed on a different level than russian crap.
Not a single Abrams has cooked off and killed its crew in Ukraine and Ukraine has sent Abrams tanks into the most intense parts of the frontlines. Have they been disabled and destroyed? Sure, but they do the job they are designed to do and give their crews the highest chances of success, tanks get disabled that is what happens in war… but I have seen videos where drone after drone enters an open Abrams hatch after it was abandoned by its crew from being disabled and explodes and it doesn’t really do much damage to the tank because… well the ammunition doesn’t cook off and it is a huge metal box.
No, I can affirmatively tell you russia has not proved tanks are obsolete, they have proved they don’t know what the hell a tank is or what it is actually for.

The 2A7 is the same weight as the SV122. I can’t find any specific armor layouts, but I doubt all that weight is solely in the longer gun without any extra armor. If you can point me to armor schematics for both, that’d be great though.

Buddy, my pal, my friend. You should scroll up. That’s THE SAME THING that I said. I know it gets exhausting to talk with the “Lol drones>tanks” crowd, but I’m not in that crowd.

Details are classified but going on battlefield performance in Ukraine the SV122 outclasses most Leopards.
