It’s an anti-soulslike, I suppose. You are the final boss, and the hero is a pathetic little mortal that you crush with one swing of your fell weapon. Except they just keep coming back, and they keep learning your tricks
It’s a very short game, maybe half an hour to play through. I had fun with it
Available on itch.io (pay what you want) and Steam (currently half price)
I liked the detail that they’re not just throwing themselves at you over and over, but actually went back and reexplored the world to find better equipment.
Yeah, that was great!
Spoilered for the benefit of anyone that hasn't played
The run where they get lazy really caught me off guard. For just a moment I thought that I had figured something out, but no, the player was just being like me after a few too many runs at a boss in a soulslike
I’m interested in the idea, the perspective shift sounds like it has potential but half an hour is just not enough to get me to buy it. I struggle to see how you have enough time to actually do something in terms of narrative and character development in that short of a playtime.
It’s definitely more like a short interactive art piece than an actual game. There’s no winning it. But the itch.io link is pay what you want, which I believe includes paying nothing, so the author is fine with that
Just bought it, thanks for the recommend!
