Honestly, it’s disingenuous and untrue to pretend that the orange regime and orangeboi are maintaining the status quo ante. They’re demonstrably not. That’s not me defending the US or its foreign policy and history thereof (especially in the Cold War) - I’m just saying that being reductively naive about these things meaningfully understates how fucking idiotic and destructive the regime is in so, so many dimensions.
