[Video] US stadium official says they only pat-down Egypt supporters in the Egypt vs Argentine match
I couldn’t quite hear the justification they used, but I found this article

While social media users claim Egypt fans were stopped for pat downs while Argentina fans were waved through, the stadium rep says the Egypt fans were part of a supporter group, and as such, they were patted down for fireworks and other banned items before entry through their gate.
What is a supporters group? I found this other article, which makes me think it’s the people who got cheaper tickets that are getting pat downs (which is still bad)
Different clip with different angle shows the opposite

A supporters group is an organized fan base. They are usually the loudest and proudest in the stadium. Most supporter sections are great, but some push the limits of celebration by using fireworks, getting into fights, drinking too much, cursing out players and officials etc.
But how does random security guard know who’s who? They haven’t seen a ticket they just see the Egypt colours and pull em to the side.
You can’t really. Sometimes they will wear a supporters patch or scarf etc , but the answer is to pat down EVERYONE if you think there will be a problem.
So basically just wear a shirt overtop your colours if you wanna cause trouble. Seems pretty easy to get around.
They know because of racism 👌
