I really think that apple could fill a serious niche in the gaming space if they would liberalize their App Store policies a bit. An Apple TV with the A17 Pro/m3 and native support for GeForce now/gamepass and all the arcade native titles could be something where actual game publishers really do try to target the huge iOS install base.
Properly supporting Vulkan on MacOS, allowing emulators to be sideloaded, and iPhone/apple TV/Mac could be a serious gaming platform.
Mostly wishful thinking, I know. But VR/AR with the vision headset, console gaming with an Apple TV, and handheld gaming with iPhone and a kishi/backbone style controller straight from apple sounds like an actually good ecosystem that the big 2 don’t really have right now.
Rumors about if apple bought Disney are all rage these days, what if apple bought Nintendo?
