It’s not inherently exploitative.
The people who claim they want to ban pornography because women are being either physically exploited or financially exploited don’t seem to be doing anything to give women the resources to not be physically or financially exploited.
If we made sure all women had their basic needs met, the argument that women in porn were being financially exploited to be forced to go into porn to make money wouldn’t make any sense at all, so why not do that?
If we made sure that there were serious consequences for powerful men physically and sexually exploiting women, the argument that women were being physically and financially exploited to make porn wouldn’t make sense at all.
Sex isn’t something that people should be shamed for.
Also, having things like prostitution and pornography be illegal tends to mean that actual victims not only get exploited by the people accused of exploiting them but also get exploited by the police and authorities who claim to be protecting them.
